PRINCIPLES OF FORMULATION OF MATHEMATICAL MODELS FOR THERMAL AND FLOW PHENOMENA
Abstract
In the paper principles of making balances of extensive physical quantities, constitutive equations and the closure problems for the models were presented. Variational formulations of the models based on the classical and non-equilibrium thermodynamics were given. Simplifications in the mathematical description of thermal and flow phenomena, which lead to theories of the boundary layer and the channel flow, were discussed.
