POSSIBILITIES OF AND PROBLEMS RELATED WITH THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE
Abstract
In the paper there are discussed possibilities of thermal energy storage. The thermal energy storage techniques utilizing sensible heat, latent heat, reversible chemical reactions and fuel production have been taken into account. The operatingranges of temperature have been presented as well as thermal capacities of energy storage systems. Various criteria for the selection of materials have been discussed too. On the basis of analysis being made a number of conclusion have been drawn and presented. In addition, data concerning the thermal properties of selected materials has been collected and inserted in the paper.
