ROLE OF SOLID OVERHEATING IN MELTING PROCESSES

  • Jan Madejski

Abstract

The problem of influence of solid overheating over the equilibrium phase change temperature on the rate of solid melting was discussed in the paper. A method enabling indirect determination of the overheating degree was proposed. The method is based on the measurement of a delay in the melting process in sites were value of the heat transfer coefficient is low.
