PLASMA SPRAYING OF THE COATINGS OF OXIDIZING MATERIALS
Abstract
In this paper sample investigations of plasma spraying coatings made with easily oxidizing materials are presented. Different methods of plasma spraying were applied including the control of a coating's oxidation. The presented coatings were investigated and the degree of a coating's oxidation was examined with X-ray analysis. Then, the mechanical properties of the coatings were examined. Spraying under atmospheric pressure with a protective ring-shaped jet was the most successful. The shaping of an annular protective gas jet (a screen against oxidation of the powder materials for coatings) was carried out.
