ANALYSIS OF TRANSPORT AND RETENTION OF AEROSOLS IN CONTAINMENT OF WATER-COOLED NUCLEAR REACTOR
Abstract
The main phenomena connected with transport and retention of aerosols have been described. The basic data on Brownian, gravitational and turbulent coagulation have been presented. The principal mechanisms of deposition of aerosol particles on surfaces, including sedimentation, Brownian and turbulent diffusion, and thermophoresis have been considered. The results of preliminary calculation have been shown. The computer codes and the experimental programs in the field of analysis of severe accidents of nuclear reactors have been briefly described.
