TY - JOUR AU - Brodowicz, Kazimierz AU - Pacek, Andrzej TI - EQUILIBRIUM RELATIONSHIPS FOR A SYSTEM CONSISTING OF GASEOUS PRODUCT OF COAL GASIFICATION AND METHANOL JF - Journal of Power Technologies; Vol 62 (1983) KW - N2 - The paper presents the equilibrium relationships for a multicomponent system including gas (from coal gasification) and methanol. The gas consist of carbon monoxide, hydrogen and methane - the component being considered in common as an inert gas - and of acid gases i.e.: hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide. The presence of methanol vapour in the gas been taken into account too. The equilibrium data are indispensable for calculations concerning the absorption of acid compounds (H 2 S and CO 2 ). There are, however, none data of this nature in the available bibligraphy. The investigation has been therefor restricted to ranges (of parameters) being important from a view point of process engineering. They are namely: 215 K < T < 250 K; P = 3 MPa; inlet concetrations: 0,01 < Y CO2 < 0,2 and 0 < Y H2S < 0,015. The effect of CO 2 concentration on solubility of H 2 S and vice-versa (H 2 S concentration on solubility of CO 2 ) as well as the effect of temperature on solubility of the both gases have been presentes. Results of computations, presented in the graphical form, allow to estimate the simultaneous H 2 S and CO 2 absorption process and may be used in engineering calculations concerning the absorption process. The proposed numerical program, being based on the earlier work [6], allows to determine the equilibrium relationships for other multicomponent systems provided that corresponding set of data for all possible combinations of binary systems which may be obtained for components of a mixture and a solvent are avaiable. Such data may be found in the bibliography [4], [6], [7], [9]. UR - https://papers.itc.pw.edu.pl/index.php/JPT/article/view/88
