Therefore, new power technologies based on firing hard coal or lignite have to take this requirement into account. Their application will involve adopting a certain legal framework and their environmental impact will have to be determined. A pipeline infrastructure will have to be created for the transport of captured CO2. This paper presents an analysis of the hazards and risk related to CO2 transport from power plants to potential storage sites.
